Duane Grummons, DDS, MSD is board certified in Facial Orthopedics and Orthodontics. He has lectured before most American orthodontic organizations and world-wide. He has published scientific articles in all major orthodontic journals, and various orthodontic/TMD textbooks. He has appeared before many dental, surgical and medical conferences, and has made radio and television appearances.

Dr. Grummons is internationally recognized for his efficient and clinically sensible approaches to facial orthopedic, facial asymmetry, TMD management, and non-extraction orthodontic treatments. He is known nationally for his Clear Aligner Therapy innovations and Total Patient Experience lectures emphasizing the team approach with staff.

Dr. Grummons is an Associate Professor at the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry in the Department of Facial Orthopedics and Orthodontics. His orthodontic specialty practices were in Marina del Ray, CA followed by his specialty facial orthopedics/orthodontics and 3D imaging center in Spokane, WA.

He now is busy as a national orthodontics practice consultant, lecturer in Airway Disorders and DentoFacial Orthopedics, and Orthodontic Specialty Management with Inspiration.

Bio:

Dr. Rebecca Bockow received her dental degree from the U of WA School of Dentistry. Upon graduation, Dr. Bockow practiced general dentistry in Seattle for two years. In 2013, she completed her dual training in both Orthodontics and Periodontics from the U Penn School of Dental Medicine, and also earned a Masters in Oral Biology.

Dr. Bockow is a board-certified orthodontist and periodontist. She is a resident faculty at Spear Education, and lectures to audiences internationally on topics including interdisciplinary treatment planning, airway and sleep disorders, skeletal growth and development, TAD expansion, and corticotomy-facilitated orthodontic therapy.

Dr. Bockow maintains a private practice in Seattle and Bellevue, limited to orthodontics and periodontics.

Bio:

Dr. Mary E. Burns, D.M.D, M.S, M.A earned her degree in Dental Medicine with honors from the University of Pittsburgh and her Certificate in Orthodontics and Masters of Education and Science from the Ohio State University. Dr. Burns lectures internationally on the topics of Biologic Orthodontics and the role of the orthodontist in the treatment of patients with sleep disordered breathing. She has been in private practice in New Hope, PA 1990-present. Dr. Burns has a loving family with three children and two grandchildren.

G. Dave Singh, DMD, PhD, DDSc

Bio:

Professor G. Dave Singh is a US citizen who was born, educated and trained in England, UK. He holds three doctorates, including Doctor of Dental Medicine (University of Newcastle, UK - validated at the University of Puerto Rico, USA); a Ph.D. in cleft palate development (University of Bristol, UK), and a third Doctorate in Orthodontics (University of Dundee, UK). Dr Singh was awarded a grant by the British Society for Developmental Biology (University of Oxford, UK), and later, he was appointed to the Board of Examiners, Royal College of Surgeons of England. He was also Visiting Professor at: the University of Saskatchewan, Canada; the University of Airlangga, Indonesia; the University of Health Sciences, Antigua; University Sains Malaysia, Kelantan, and Adjunct Professor, Portland State University, USA. On the basis of being an “outstanding professor” supported by Harvard University, the University of Michigan, and the University of Hawaii, he was invited to relocate to the Center for Craniofacial Disorders, USA where he led a NIH-funded program of clinical craniofacial research. Currently, he is a Board Member of the American Sleep and Breathing Association, Member of the World Sleep Society, Academic Fellow of the World Federation of Orthodontists, and Fellow of the International Association for Orthodontics, where he was awarded prizes in 2005, 2013 and 2014. He has published over 200 articles in the peer-reviewed medical, dental and orthodontic literature, has published 7 books/chapters, and is currently finishing his new book entitled “Pneumopedics and craniofacial epigenetics”, which focuses on craniofacial sleep medicine with a special interest in a curative approach to obstructive sleep apnea in both children and adults. He has lectured and presented his work at numerous medical, dental and orthodontic conferences in North America, Asia, Europe, Australia and Africa. Dr Singh was the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of BioModeling Solutions, Inc., where he obtained 8 US patents, 2 Canadian patents and 2 international patents. He also obtained FDA registrations and clearances for his patented family of biomimetic oral appliances known as the DNA appliance® system, which was acquired by Vivos Therapeutics, Inc., USA. Currently, he is Founder and Chief Medical Officer, Vivos Therapeutics, Inc. Dr. Singh was the 2019 recipient of the US Invisible Disabilities Association award for ‘providing the possibility of healthy lives for millions living with illness, pain and disability’. In 2020, Dr Singh was given a lifetime achievement award as one of the world’s top 100 doctors in dentistry for his work on sleep apnea ‘exemplifying leadership, excellence, and entrepreneurship in service to humanity and the advancement of global health’.

Bio:

He’s completed UCLA’s Mini-Residency in Sleep and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Dental Sleep Medicine.

Dr. Carstensen lectures internationally, directs sleep education at the Pankey Institute and is a guest lecturer at Spear Education, University of the Pacific, and Louisiana State University Dental Schools.

Since 2014 he has been Editor-in-Chief of Dental Sleep Practice Magazine. In 2019, Quintessence will publish A Clinician’s Handbook of Dental Sleep Medicine, written with a co-author.
