Dr. Joy MacDermid is a Professor at Western University, Canada. She holds a CIHR Chair in Gender, Work and Health, and the Dr. James Roth Research Chair in Measurement and Knowledge Translation. She is a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences and the Royal Society of Canada. She has published over 480 research papers. She represents the fire sector at CIPSRT as an Associate Scientific Director.
