Title: Basic Pressure Regulation Theory
Code: R101
Overview: Theory of Pressure Regulation.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this session, learners will be able to:
  1. Understand the basic operation of a self-operated pressure regulator
  2. Identify the components of a self-operated gas regulator
  3. Explain droop or offset
  4. Identify applications where self-operated regulators would be used
  5. Explain the phenomenon of velocity boosting
  6. Understand characteristics including droop and boost as it relates to the performance curve of a regulator and how a manufacture documents their capacities
  7. Interpret the information from technical documents of manufacturers’ regulators
  8. Explain the basics of CSA 6.18 standard used for service regulators
