Who Should Attend?

The Reciprocating Machinery Dynamics course covers critical issues for safe and reliable operation of reciprocating machinery installations.  The course primarily focuses on vibration, pulsation, and torsional considerations for reciprocating compressors.  If not properly addressed, these issues can result in greater compressor downtime, increased operational cost and potential safety and environmental issues.  The engineering background necessary for proper design (acoustical bottle design, proper coupling selection, piping layout and support considerations, etc.) is discussed.  Field data acquisition theory and techniques are presented, as well as case histories that provide examples of the types of problems that can occur.  The topics in this course will help engineers/analysts evaluate existing installations, understand dynamic issues that they may be having, and make decisions regarding design requirements for new installation.
