In consultation with CCAP staff and our Annual Conference venue, the CCAP officers have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 Annual Conference at the Seven Springs Mountain Resort in Somerset County.
Given the financial and travel concerns confronting many counties along with the question of whether the resort has the current ability to host our Conference, cancelling the in-person version of the Annual Conference is the best course of action.
What You Need to Know Now If You’re Registered for the Conference
Conference Registration Refunds: CCAP will process refunds of all registration fees automatically; you do not need to take any individual action.
If you previously canceled your registration and CCAP withheld the administrative fee per our cancellation policy, we will be refunding those fees as well.
If you or your county paid for your registration with a check, your refund will be issued via check, so we ask for your patience in processing and receiving your refund.
If you or your county paid for your registration with a credit card, your refund will be issued via that same credit card.
Questions regarding refunds can be directed to Jeannette Hunter at jhunter@pacounties.org
Hotel Reservations at Seven Springs: Any attendees who have already made reservations with Seven Springs in the CCAP room block will automatically have their reservations cancelled and any monies returned. You do not need to take further action. If you did not make your reservation in the CCAP room block, please contact Seven Springs at (800) 452-2223 to cancel your reservation.
Virtual Annual Conference But, we know that you were looking forward to a chance to seeing each other face to face and catch up, especially after being apart for so long, so the Annual Conference is not going away entirely. Make plans now to join your colleagues from around the state for an abbreviated virtual Annual Conference on August 17 and 18! We can’t wait to see you!
The Conference is free for all CCAP members, sponsors, associate members and vendors. Registration information for the new virtual Annual Conference will be shared with you shortly.
This condensed Conference, about two hours each morning, will offer an Opening General Session on Monday with addresses by the CCAP president and executive director and our friends at NACo. The annual business meeting on Tuesday will be our usual meeting to conduct CCAP business and voting.
The CCAP Board of Directors and committee meetings will be held prior to August 17 at a date and time determined by the CCAP Government Relations and policy staff.
A limited number of educational breakout sessions will be held after August 18 in a series of virtual sessions much like what CCAP has been doing with its weekly education series since May.
The Solicitors’ Sessions will be rescheduled for a later date.
The awards presentations will be postponed until the November Fall Conference.
In the next few weeks, you will receive more information from CCAP about registering for the Virtual Annual Conference. As always, please feel free to call or email me with additional questions and concerns.
