CA Mathematics Framework Series: Piloting and Adopting Instructional Materials
As LEAs across California move to pilot and adopt new math materials, the real opportunity lies not just in choosing a curriculum but in using that curriculum as a catalyst for meaningful instructional shifts. This series supports educators, instructional leaders, and adoption teams in making thoughtful, equity-centered decisions about piloting, adopting, and implementing math materials aligned with the California Mathematics Framework. Together, we’ll explore tools, resources, and practices that center student thinking, elevate educator voice, and sustain long-term pedagogical growth.
By the end of this 3-part series, participants will:
Understand how high-quality instructional materials can support the shifts outlined in the California Mathematics Framework (CMF).
Engage with tools and protocols for piloting and evaluating new math materials in an equity-centered, instructionally focused way.
Build site- or district-specific plans for adopting and sustaining curriculum that centers student thinking and teacher collaboration.
