Welcome to SCD 2026

We are thrilled to introduce SCD 2026 – RISE UP: Love, Serve, Lead, building on the success of the SCD Laity Bootcamp (SEE // CREATE // DISCIPLE) held in Kenosha, WI, which united church leaders and laity from across the globe for a meaningful time of learning, worship, and renewed inspiration.

Hosted in Columbus, Ohio, SCD 2026 equips and empowers leaders to build communities where people truly belong and, together, become more like Christ—loving boldly, serving joyfully, and leading courageously for the sake of the world.

Event Overview

Legacy of Excellence: More than twenty years of fostering growth, learning, and networking with United Methodist Church leaders.

Visionary Leadership: A focus on shifting from “fixing churches” to embracing the Great Commission of making disciples of all nations (Junius Dotson).

Love

Boldly seeing, valuing, and reaching all the people Christ has called us to engage with openness, compassion, and courage.

Serve

Joyfully cultivating a renewed United Methodist movement marked by joyful service to the present age and generations to come.

Lead

Courageously inspiring and equipping participants to lead with clarity, faith, and boldness as we make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
