AI Curriculum Connections
How should AI be taught across content areas in appropriate progressions through grades K-12? AI is not a neutral technology. It reflects human, social, economic, and political values and decision-making at the micro and macro levels. In this session, educators and leaders collaborate to review resources that support students' research and educational partner engagement for AI ethics, media literacy, digital citizenship, and computer science equity, as well as curriculum resources considering the environmental and societal impacts of AI and a toolkit leading to the State Seal of Civic Engagement. In the process, educators design deeper learning experiences to analyze AI systems critically, utilize AI responsibly, and center learners and school community needs in co-creating policies and practices, aligning to AI 2876 and SB 1288.
