Course Description:
Vermonters have active, outdoors lifestyles. Those that live, work and recreate near tick habitats are at high risk for bites and contracting a tick-borne disease. Farmers and livestock are prime targets! This FREE, online session will cover tick ID, their life cycles, the disease-causing pathogens they carry, bite prevention tips, survey results and more. Speaker Bio: Cheryl Frank Sullivan, Research Assistant Professor, University of Vermont, College of Agriculture and Life Sciences, Department of Agriculture, Landscape and Environment, Entomology Research Laboratory. Cheryl is an Entomologist and, for over 19 years, has specialized in Integrated Pest Management (IPM) and biological control. Her research activities are twofold and focus on vector ecology and management (ticks) and agricultural pest management in greenhouse, nursery and high tunnel production.
