The Annual Rowland Conference is the largest one-day educational conference in Vermont, intended for educators, students, and community members interested in improving the culture and climate of schools. This year's keynote speaker, Baratunde Thurston’s How to Citizen framework invites us to rethink what citizenship should be in our day and age. A prolific writer and comedian, Baratunde is the author of the New York Times bestseller How to Be Black and co-creator and host of the podcast Life with Machines, focused on the social impacts of AI. He previously wrote for The Daily Show and The Onion and hosted the PBS seriesAmerica Outdoors with Baratunde Thurston. To view the full agenda, please click here.
To share new learning, the Rowland Foundation encourages schools/districts to register eight-member teams, which is more cost-effective than individual registrations. Team members often include the principal, teachers, coordinators, support staff, and school board members. Superintendents can be added to the team, as the ninth team member, for no additional charge. Once a school/district team has been registered, it will be possible to add up to three students, space permitting, for a nominal charge.

The Rowland Foundation is joyfully committed to providing equal access to all attendees at the Annual Rowland Conference.
