Walk With Ease: Enhanced Self Directed Program - National Arthritis Foundation Evidence Based Program
Did you know that Arthritis is the #1 cause of disability in the USA? This program can help!
Event Description:
The Walk with Ease Self-Directed program is a six-week, evidence-based walking program from the National Arthritis Foundation. This program is designed to help people with arthritis manage pain and improve mobility. It is open to anyone looking to increase physical activity, improve balance, strength, and walking ability. It's a great option for individuals who want to become more active.
This fall we are offering the option to be connected with a UVM student who would coach you through the program. The community really enjoyed working with the students during the spring semester. If you select this option, you will receive a free copy of the Walk with Ease Guide Book and schedule a weekly phone call for 6 weeks with a UVM student to coach you through the program.
Alternatively, we are also offering the Walk with Ease Self Directed program enhanced with a weekly email. If you would like to participate this way, you would receive a free copy of the Walk with Ease Book* and a weekly email to guide you through the program.
To participate, you need to be able to:
Stand for 10 minutes
Walk with or without an assistive device
Commit to walking 3 times a week for 6 weeks- at your own pace and distance
