Change Lenses: Leading Through Change

Session Description: We all face an unknown, change-filled future. Change can result in excitement and a feeling of freedom, but may also generate apprehension and tension, given the range of possibilities the future brings. We spend time and resources in attempts to reduce future unknowns and to make sense of the inevitable changes faced. We can't, of course, know the future, but we can think deeply about change to bring some order to the disorder of the future. In the ever-evolving landscape of audit work, grasping the nuances of change leads to more effective outcomes, a smoother audit process for everyone, and a stronger reputation for the audit team. In this session, we'll discuss simple ways to think deeply about change to gain a better perspective of the associated unknowns and learn ways to better lead ourselves and others to generate effective actions to move towards desired outcomes.

In this session, participants will learn to:

• Articulate critical change concepts that may affect audits
• Recognize when change elements appear in audits
• Assess the effect of the change elements on the area under review and the audit​
• Incorporate key change-related concepts to achieve more efficient and effective audits​
