The IIA Vancouver Chapter is pleased to announce the Internal Audit Leaders Event 2025.

Join us for an exciting day filled with renowned Internal Audit leaders, practitioners, and prominent thought leaders as they share their unique perspectives and experiences on various internal audit hot topics. This in-person event includes individual presentations and networking opportunities during breakout sessions.

Note: Breakfast and lunch are included. Coffee will be served during breaks. The full-day educational sessions will be followed by a social networking opportunity.

*9:00 AM – 10:15 AM*	Presentation on essential leadership communication skills for internal auditors. In today's rapidly evolving business landscape, effective communication is more critical than ever for auditors to succeed in their roles. *10:15 – 10:30 AM*	Coffee is served.
*10:30 AM – 11:45 PM* *Panel discussion*	During this panel discussion, Internal Audit leaders will share their learnings about leading their Internal Audit function and how they incorporate emerging risks into their audit plans. Jointly presented by: Danesh Mavalvala, VP, Internal Audit, Vancity Credit Union; Bukkie Adewuyi, VP, Internal Audit and Risk Advisory, Aritzia; Warren Newton, Executive Director and Chief Audit Executive, Provincial Health Services Authority

*12:45 PM – 2:00 PM*	During this session, the speakers will provide an update on the regulatory changes and best practices in the ESG space. *2:00 PM – 2:15 PM*	Coffee is served.
*2:15 – 3:30 PM*	During this session, the speakers will discuss using AI tools in audit work, as well as AI related risks to consider in audit plans. Presented by Alexandra Solomonov Azem, Gwyn Williams, Senior Manager, Risk Advisory, Deloitte
*3:30 – 4:45 PM*	During this session, the speakers will discuss the impact to Internal Audit shops from the updated IIA Standards released in January 2025. Presented by Connor O'Hanlon, Senior Manager - Risk Services, Naoka Salmon, Manager - Risk Services, PwC
*4:45 PM – 5:00 PM*	Closing remarks.
