Walk With Ease: Enhanced Self Directed Program - National Arthritis Foundation Evidence Based Program
Did you know that Arthritis is the #1 cause of disability in the USA? This program can help!
Event Description:
The Walk with Ease Self-Directed program is a six-week, evidence-based walking program from the National Arthritis Foundation. This program is designed to help people with arthritis manage pain and improve mobility. It is open to anyone looking to increase physical activity, improve balance, strength, and walking ability. It's a great option for individuals who want to become more active.
We were offering an option to be connected with a UVM student who would coach you through the program. The response from the community has been excellent and all our student coaches are full. Our next opportunity to be paired with a student coach will be in the early fall. If you would like to work with a student please sign up with us in early September.
Alternatively, we are now offering the Walk with Ease Self Directed program enhanced. If you would like to participate this way, you would receive a free copy of the Walk with Ease Book* and a weekly email to guide you through the program.
To participate, you need to be able to:
Stand for 10 minutes
Walk with or without an assistive device
Commit to walking 3 times a week for 6 weeks- at your own pace and distance
Receive weekly email guidance
