Hot Topic 1 - Key Points in Internal Auditing and Fraud, 3rd Edition, released April 26, 2024. During this 50-minute block, we'll delve into the Guide and discuss hot fraud risks in 2025.
Hot Topic 2 - Key points Internal Auditors need to know about business disputes and arbitration matters - including how this impacts Internal Auditors considerations of fraud risk governance and management at the organizational level.

Hot Topic 1 - Key Points in Internal Auditing and Fraud, 3rd Edition Pamela Verick, CCEP, CFE, Principal at HKA
Pamela Verick (Pam) is a Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional and Certified Fraud Examiner with over 25 years of experience in corporate compliance and forensic investigations.
Pam has worked with private, public, and not-for-profit organizations to develop and defend their anti-fraud program strategy and spend. She has implemented confidential reporting systems and processes, value-driven fraud risk assessments, right-sized fraud controls, bespoke fraud audits, and resonant training and communication activities to help combat internal and external vulnerabilities arising from fraud and misconduct.
Hot Topic 2: Business Disputes and Arbitration Matters Ken Kratovil, CFE, CVA, Partner, HKA Global
Ken Kratovil has over 20 years of experience in valuation and forensic accounting. He has been appointed as a testifying expert and assisted the named expert on over 40 occasions.
Ken has provided expert testimony in matters of economic damages, business valuations, and forensic accounting for ICSID, LCIA, ICDR, AAA and FINRA arbitration. He has testified as an expert with disputed values of up to US$644 million. Ken has specialized in valuation, damage quantification, and complex financial modeling after first gaining professional experience working at an investment bank in New York and in various corporate finance and regulatory positions at Lockheed Martin and the SEC.
Prerequisite: Basic understanding of fraud risk management and auditing procedures

Program Refund Policy
Refunds are up to the discretion of the Chapter President. In most cases, refunds are allowable for CPE events only if the Chapter is notified more than 2 business days before the event. In the event a CPE program is rescheduled or canceled, registrants have the option to transfer the value of the registration to another event within one year of the original event date.
Any social or advocacy event that requires payment to attend is non-refundable but can be transferable to another individual. It is the responsibility of the members/attendees to handle payment between the parties regarding transfer of paid event.
