One can have great technical skills and understanding of risk and controls, but if you cannot communicate your thoughts and findings effectively you are unlikely to add significant value or garner respect. When communicating with the executive tier, those communication skills become even more amplified and are a key driver in your success and reputation, and auditors who excel in this area have the greatest potential to advance to leadership roles.
For this presentation we interviewed 25 Audit and Risk Leaders to understand what they feel are the most important considerations when presenting to the executive tier.

Todd Weinman is the President and Founder of The Weinman Group, an executive search firm focused on Audit, Governance, Risk, and Compliance.
Todd brings three decades experience as a trusted advisor to companies in their search for outstanding talent, and to Audit and GRC professionals looking to accelerate their careers.
Todd is a previous winner of the California Association of Personnel Consultants (now CSP) “Consultant of the Year” award as the top recruiter in the State of California. He holds a bachelor’s degree from U.C. Berkeley and worked for several years for a Big 4 Public Accounting Firm. Todd is a frequent presenter for the IIA, ISACA, MIS Training Institute, and various other organizations. He has written articles and/or been interviewed for a variety of publications including: The Wall Street Journal, Computerworld, CiO.com, and The Huffington Post.
Over the past two-plus decades, Todd has been actively involved in with ISACA, having held leadership roles at both the International level, where he Chaired the Leadership Development Committee and Career Management Task Force, and with the SF ISACA Chapter, where he served as a Chapter President, long time Board Member, and in his years co-leading of the SF ISACA Fall Conference.
