The Santa Clara County Office of Education (SCCOE) invites all TK-5th grade educators to the Elementary 4 Computer Science 2024-25 professional learning opportunity. Engage and support your diverse students through computational thinking (CT) and computer science (CS)!
Audience: Educators, Paraprofessionals, and District/School Site Administrators Grade Level(s): TK-5
This self-paced course will guide you to find the intersections of CT and CS in all your content areas, and explore strategies to support all students with critical thinking while elevating cultural diversity and self-expression.
During this course you will:
Explore the concepts, practices and pedagogies of Computer Science and their intersection with all content areas.
Experience model lessons and curricula that prepare elementary students to be critical creators of computational artifacts including artificial intelligence (AI) through language, culture and self-expression.
Create a personalized plan for bringing this learning to your class.
Attend monthly hybrid connector meetings to collaborate with other teachers
PLEASE NOTE:
All curricula will be available online through Canvas. The self-paced course content will take about 16 hours to complete.
