Join us at Stillwater State Park, located on picturesque Groton Lake in the 28,000-acre Groton State Forest. Your whole family will have fun learning such outdoor skills as canoeing, fishing, archery, wildlife identification, bushwhacking, and camping, wilderness and survival skills. In addition to Outdoor Family Weekend workshops, you’ll have free time to enjoy other recreational activities including boating, swimming, and hiking. Each camper may choose three workshops led by expert instructors. Each session offers numerous choices, including some meant especially for very young children and others appropriate for the older set.
Outdoor Family Weekend is a collaboration between the University of Vermont Extension and the Vermont Agency of Natural Resources Departments of Fish and Wildlife, and Forests, Parks and Recreation. Outdoor Family Weekend aims to inspire among the public a better understanding of environmental conservation, safety, and fun in the outdoors.
