“Advanced Bystander Assistance"
Learn how to be a side by side assistant to the EMS by enhancing what is learned in "A Crash Course for the Motorcyclist". Students are taught how to be a leader at a scene. Advanced airway, roadside medical concerns, assisting the EMS with extrication, pressure points, role play, critical incident stress, lifting a bike lab, and more. PACT/ABCSS of Trauma are all addressed & practiced.
IT - Instructor-Led ASM Advanced 300 series class. Lead instructor: Vicki Sanfelipo, RN. Assisting instructor: Brianna Meisinger, RN. This class is OPEN to the general public and is available for anyone to take. Pre-requisite: Must have completed basic class within the last 2 calendar years [2022, 2023 or 2024]. Location: Misty Glen MH Community Building. Due to the generous sponsorship of SD Office of Highway Safety and ABATE of SD, the cost is only $25 per student (value $125). The course includes all course materials, a rocker patch, a certificate, and lunch. Lunch is provided by ABATE of SD. Class limit 20 students.
