As an admitted student to ASU Law, you are eligible to apply to our Advance Program. The Advance Program seeks to foster an inclusive community at ASU Law, particularly for first-generation students, students of color, and students who have overcome adversity. The Advance Program hopes to bring together a cohort of students with diverse backgrounds who can offer different perspectives—racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity and expression, disability, socioeconomic, and geographic diversity.
This year-long program provides participants with the following:
Three-day, pre-orientation workshop focused on law school success strategies
Attorney mentor
2L or 3L student mentor
$1500 stipend to cover first-year books
$500 stipend to cover travel expenses
Monthly events that provide opportunities for the cohort to gather and attend academic and non-academic programs
Admitted JD students interested in this program should refer to their admission materials for the deadline to apply. To apply, please submit a resume and an essay of no more than 500 words that addresses one of the following questions:
How will your life experiences help ASU Law build an inclusive cohort for the Advance Program, or how have you overcome adversity to get where you are today?
