Building Volunteers

Volunteer Opportunity
Build a Home

Arkansas Conference of United Methodist Church Disaster Response Ministries and Volunteers in Mission are partnering with several different organizations to rebuild a home. This home in Pine Bluff was destroyed in the wind storms that occurred on Easter Sunday this year.

This is a mission opportunity for the whole church. Anyone of any age may participate. (Youth under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult chaperone from their church in a 1:10/1:7 ratio, children under 12 must be accompanied by a parent.) All COVID-19 guidelines must be adhered to.

Friday evening Oct. 16th from 4pm-7pm

20 volunteers are needed to meet in the parking lot of First United Methodist Church Conway to set up and cut lumber for each wall of the home.

Saturday Oct.17th from 8am-2pm

70-100 volunteers are needed to assemble the individual walls of the home. No experience will be required and all tools will be provided. At a later date volunteers will transport the walls to the stand-up site. A group of volunteers from Christian Aid Ministries, a recovery partner, will install the roof system. Volunteers will be needed to complete the exterior and interior of the house over the next couple of months.
