As
a start-up business, one of the key assets you have will be the intellectual
property (IP) rights associated with your innovative idea / business model /
software / technology.
IP
is probably one of the most important things that a potential investor will ask
about and expect you to have a position on it. Innovation comes in many forms
and varieties. It can be in a unique brand, eye-catching design, clever
software, or a technical invention.
This
will be a short, practical, workshop with a number of case studies so you as a
business can:
1. understand how to protect your innovation
through intellectual property rights (trade marks, patents, designs, copyright)
and commercially exploit it use those rights, e.g. to obtain investment
2. learn about funding and support available
to you as an SME based in the Midlands region, that can be used to support the
development and protection of innovative products and services, e.g. proof of
concept projects, prototyping, market studies and intellectual property
protection.
3. learn about innovation models
organisations/businesses use to stay relevant in their market and how you can
use them, together with tools and templates to from an innovation strategy for
your business.
This will be followed by one to one drop in sessions.
