This workshop focuses on the follow-up of African American Learners’ Enhancement and Ways to Equity Playbook. Using critical race theory and black racial identity as our conceptual framework, participants will delve into the intersections of race, class, and gender, emphasizing the crucial role of relationships in shaping the racial consciousness and academic and social engagement of African Americans. Throughout the session, we will address the complexities inherent in being black within schools and classrooms with focus on learning techniques and strategies to build meaningful and authentic relationships with black children. Participants will have honest, objective, and supportive conversations to enhance your advocacy for African American students.
Join us as we work towards creating more equitable and inclusive learning environments for all students.
