What does it mean to write when your success means the less of your words a reader sees, the better? How do you write differently when you know that your words will be translated into something onthe page that are not words at all? In the last decade, graphic novels have exploded in traditional publishing avenues, exposing more readers than ever to sequential storytelling and comics. Writing for comics, however, is a distinct skill, one that presents a number of pratfalls for even the most seasoned of authors. This course is an attempt to skip that learning curve. Get ready to sit down and engage in conversation with the proverbial artist in your head, and take a hands-on, hearts-open journey into learning how to write for that low-art-come-high-art visual medium, comics.
