2020 Farm Bureau YF&R Leadership Conference

Frequently Asked Questions & Answers

Q: The breakout sessions have different tracks. Do I have to stick with the same track the whole conference?
A: The tracks are designed to help guide attendees to areas of interest, but in no way obligates them to participate in the same track during the entire conference. For example, if a collegiate member wants to focus their experience on building their Collegiate Farm Bureau Chapter, they could attend all of the collegiate breakout sessions. However, if they also had an interest in the technology track, they are more than welcome to personalize their conference experience!

Q: Does the hotel have a shuttle to and from the airport?
A: No, there will not be shuttles available from the airport to the hotels. Taxi and share ride services (i.e. Lyft and Uber) are available at the airport. It is about a ten-minute ride to get to the headquarters hotel, Omni.

Q: What are the ideal travel days for the conference?
A: Our suggestion is to arrive on Friday afternoon and to depart on Tuesday morning. The Grand Finale Event will conclude Monday evening around 11:00 p.m. If members or states drive to the conference, they could plan to leave after the event is over.

Q:  Why is there a cost associated with some tours but not with others?
A: Depending on the location and activities, some tours are more expensive than others. Many of the tours and trainings are included in your registration cost. Tours with additional costs are noted on the registration site.

Q: Can someone register on-site?
A: Unfortunately, no.

Q: What’s the dress code for the conference?
A: Nice casual to business casual is the preferred dress code for attendees. Collegiate Discussion Meet participants are asked to be in business professional when competing. On Sunday, celebrate your state by wearing your state program shirt, vest, etc. We do request that anyone attending a tour on Monday wear closed toed shoes and long pants.
Q: What’s the best way to get to the Saturday Night Entertainment at the Kentucky Derby Museum?
A: On Saturday starting at 7:50 p.m. we will have buses leaving the Omni to take members to the Kentucky Derby Museum. Those buses will loop the entire evening allowing members to come back to the Omni. Please note that there will not be enough buses available to get all attendees to the museum for the start of the event. If attendees would prefer to take a taxi or shared ride car service, they can do so but will not be able to enter until 8:00 p.m. that evening. The address for the event is 704 Central Ave, Louisville, KY 40208.

Q: How should I plan on getting to the Monday Night Grand Finale event?
A: The Sports and Social Club and Tavern on Fourth is the location for the Monday Night Grand Finale event. The event space is in the Fourth Street Live district, just two blocks from the Omni. Attendees are encouraged to enjoy the five-minute walk to the event that evening.
