Daily Highlights

Day 1 – City Tour Join us for a half - day tour of Whitehorse.

Today we will bring you to the historic Miles Canyon to view the churning waters of the Yukon River. We will also spend time visiting several local museums exploring the history of the Yukon and the North. We will end the day with a private tour of Yukon Brewing, where we’ll get to sample some of their award winning brews and learn the history of Yukon’ famous craft brewery.

Day 2 – On the Klondike Trail

Join us today for a scenic tour along part of the historic Klondike Trail via the South Klondike Highway. We will take in the views of the beautiful turquoise-green waters of Emerald Lake surrounded by mountains. From here we will travel into the historic community of Carcross – previously known as Caribou Crossing. The community of Carcross will take you back in time to the spirit of the Klondike Gold Rush, and to the stories and traditions of the region’s first peoples. Explore with us the local shops and attractions, take a leisurely walk through “the world’s smallest desert”, walk the footsteps of Skookum Jim and enjoy the scenery of this colourful community. While in Carcross, we will stop by the Caribou Crossing Trading Post. Here you will have the opportunity to visit the Yukon’s most extensive Wildlife Museum, view the world’s largest mounted polar bear and interact with sled dogs.

Day 3 – Where the Wild Things Grow

Join us in a tour of the Takhini Valley, just outside of Whitehorse, where we will come face to face with Yukon wildlife and homegrown local fare. This tour will bring us through 700 acres of wildlife habitat at the preserve with species of northern mammals. You will experience the diversity of our remarkably varied landscapes including low-lying flat lands, rolling hills, wetlands and steep rock cliffs. Throughout the tour you will have many opportunities to step off the bus and photograph the wildlife close up in their natural habitat. June is prime opportunity to see the wilds of the Yukon with their young. Sneak a peek at a Canadian Lynx, spot a Mountain Goat nimbly climbing the steep cliffs, watch our moose munch in their marshland oasis, or laugh at the silly antics of our ground squirrels. We will have an opportunity to picnic on specially prepared locally grown treats while surrounded by the beautiful vastness of our wilderness. During this tour we will also visit Bean North Coffee Roasting Company and Cafe – a certified organic fair trade coffee roaster located in the northern boreal forest of Takhini Valley.
