Candidature World's Poultry Congress Paris
 
Students are welcome at WPC2020, they are our future! The World Poultry Congress is an opportunity to brainstorm about poultry science, to show the specific features of the poultry industry, to demonstrate its potential and to strengthen its attractiveness for young students. France has a competitive and diversified poultry sector, allowing to show the various faces of the poultry industry which contributes also to French gastronomy and fine cuisine.

OUR PRIORITIES FOR THE YOUTH PROGRAMME

Before the congress
    A dedicated page on the congress website will be available to students interested by the youth programme; they will upload their file for candidacy and will have the possibility to make suggestions for the congress, particularly regarding training and education issues.

During the congress

  • A specific meeting point for participants to the youth programme will be organised in the congress center
  • Meeting will be organized with the Members of the scientific committee as well as with representatives of the poultry industry to all participants of the youth programme to better know the potential of the poultry industry and their expectations
  • Meetings with invited speakers will be organised during poster sessions
  • A debriefing of the congress will be organised for the youth programme by the congress organising committee in parallel to the council meeting
  • Housing will be organised in the International Students’ Residence, which will facilitate contacts with other students. The International residence offers all the necessary environment for students’ life, including meeting rooms, free wifi, dining rooms and a large park on the southern border of Paris, 10 min by public transport from St Michel’s latin quarter in the city center.

After the congress

  • A technical program will be organised to show various features of the French poultry sector, including:
      • Headquarters of a federation of livestock cooperatives in Paris (INZOo)
      • Farm visits of Label rouge and free range chickens (1 hour by train)
      • Feed mill and quality control of ingredients
      • Meat and egg processing plants
      • Without forgetting the opportunity of gastronomic tasting
  • The technical visits will also offer the opportunity to discover some well known touristic areas such as the Châteaux of the Loire Valley, the Brittany seaside and the Mont St-Michel
  • A dedicated group on social media will be created for the participants of the youth programme who will be able to post their photos and their main take-home messages at the end of their stay.
