About the Workshop

Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada (ISED) along with Western Economic Diversification (WD), and the WCDIA will host a free workshop in advance of the WestDef conference to provide information on the Future Fighter Capability Project (FFCP) to Alberta industry and other stakeholders.

This is your opportunity to learn more about the Industrial and Technological Benefits (ITB) Policy, as well as the Value Proposition approach for economic benefits for the FFCP, including areas such as sustainment of the fleet. Feedback from Canadian stakeholders is a crucial component to help Canada refine our approach for economic benefits. This is your chance to engage and provide direct feedback to the Government of Canada on this once in a generation opportunity.

About the Future Fighter Capability Project (FFCP)

The Government of Canada has launched an open and transparent competition to replace Canada’s CF-18 fleet with 88 advanced fighter aircraft. This is the most significant investment in the Royal Canadian Air Force in over 30 years. Canada’s ITB Policy applies to this procurement, and will require the winning bidder to make investments in Canada equal to the value of the contract.

*Please note that although potential original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) for this project may be present as part of the WestDef Conference, they will not be participating formally in this workshop.

**Don't forget to register for the WestDef 2018 Opening Rendezvous Reception happening directly following the Future Fighter Forum. Join us for light fare, refreshments and a lively discussion with Mr. David Perry, Vice President & Senior Analyst with the Canadian Global Affairs Institute about the activities that have or haven't taken place in the last year since "Strong, Secure and Engaged" was released.

Tickets are $45

*Due to the overwhelming response to the Future Fighter Forum, WCDIA has decided to postpone the ITB workshop to October 3-4, 2018*
