Emerging (disruptive) content and its relevance in today’s Corporate Travel Programmes
A panel session of buyers, TMCs and new entrants/existing product companies with disruptive solutions for the corporate travel programme.

Whilst 'low-cost carriers' are now part of almost every corporate travel programme across Europe, but it took a long time, and in the meantime all airlines now have sophisticated and personalised marketing approaches to merchandise new products and services (beyond airline tickets) to the corporate traveller. Similarly TMCs are working to offer additional services, and to tackle the “First Mile / Last Mile” elements of a trip.

We'll also explore what other sectors (beyond air) are opening up to disruptive content, and consider how that may affect travel managers.

We examine what this means to the Corporate Travel Programme and how Travel Managers can retain control of their travellers and what they spend the corporate Euro on and how the corporate can continue to minimise its costs associated with fees to book and manage their corporate travel programme in the face of the disruption to the traditional programme flows.

This session will probe:
• The acceleration of the airlines, hotels and car rental vendors to merchandise to the traveller (to your travellers) - how is that developing, what should we be excited about or concerned about?
• How are LCCs and dynamic pricing of all airlines affecting traditional approaches for Corporates to contract with airlines. How are airline dealing models evolving, and how might buyers modify their corporate negotiation strategy. How will this impact intercontinental air travel / dealing?
• Beyond Air: Accommodation and ground transport are now being “disrupted” by non-traditional players including AirBNB, Uber, Mozio and others.
• Do these have a role in corporate travel programmes?
• The impact of the evolution of Mobile technology in Managed Travel Programmes
• Other emerging disruptive technologies, products & services?

12:00 What’s just around the corner? The 2016/2017 Corporate Travel landscape
A selection of today’s leaders of Corporate Buyers and Travel Industry Suppliers will provide their insight and opinions into the latest trends, developments (both macro & micro) that will affect global and local travel managers, buyers and their programmes over the next 12-18 months. Given the volatility our programmes and travellers face in terms of economics, disruptive technologies, geo-politics & security (amongst other things), these leaders’ thoughts will help shape your corporate travel programme. Our leaders will comment on:

• Currency volatility and its impact on suppliers’ pricing (aviation, hotel, etc.)
• Fuel price volatility and its impact on airlines with their different hedging strategies and surcharge policies
• The impact on LCCs and “Sand Carriers” on your corporate travel programme
• Content & Personalisation of marketing offers by airlines & others

Part C) The new paradigm in travel distribution
14:15
The travel distribution landscape – the impacts of change and implications on the corporate travel buyers and their corporations
This year has seen a significant number of changes in distribution of content & personalisation relevant to corporate travel. These all impact those who preside over the corporate travel purse, as well as the travellers themselves.

Developments have included -
• An acquisition announcement by Amadeus of the leading provider of reservation systems to LCCs – Navitaire
• The extension of lower cost API solutions for LCCs to distribute via GDS
• Network airlines wanting to achieve similar savings in distribution cost
• IATA’s NDC “New Distribution Capability” standards initiative moving to multiple pilots, ahead of a broader push
• Lufthansa Group and their “big Kahuna” move to surcharge fares booked by intermediaries via the GDS Euro 16 per ticket

All have had an impact on the corporate client (company); its Travel Manager (coping with change, trying to understand the cost / benefit to their programme); their TMC. There are sufficient significant changes to affect the economic status quo of the pricing of the various intermediaries and the total cost of travel to the ultimate client – the buyer corporation. There is an acknowledged knock on impact to Corporate; Travel Manager; Travel Management Company and so on.

Moderator: MW Travel Consultancy, Principal, Martin Warner
Panellists:
• Amadeus, VP Industry Affairs, Svend Leirvaag
• IATA, New Distribution Regional Implementation Manager, David Rutnam
• Travelport, Global Head of Product & Marketing, Air Commerce, Ian Heywood
