*Subject to change without notice

The Structures of The Sessions Are:

Traditional Paper Sessions: 15-minute presentations followed by 5 minutes of Q&A. 15 minutes at end for additional discussions.

Developmental Paper Sessions: Each author presents their ideas for 5 minutes, the group discusses for 10 minutes while the author sits and listens, and the author then has 5 minutes at the end to rejoin the conversation.

Description of Chair/Discussant Roles:

The main responsibility of the Chair/Discussant is to keep things on time in Traditional Paper and Developmental Paper sessions.

The secondary responsibility is to facilitate discussion of the papers. This is more essential for Chair/Discussants in the Developmental Paper sessions, where they must have read the papers in advance. For Traditional Sessions, it is up to the discretion of the Chair/Discussant whether to read the papers in advance.

Coordinate Presentation Supplies:

Please note that projectors will be provided at the venue, however computers will not be available for presentations.  Please contact the other presenters in your session to coordinate accordingly: you can find presenters contact information in the Program.

Each year, WAM hosts a Doctoral/Jr. Faculty Consortium. Please find more details here: WAM2015 Doctoral and Junior Faculty Consortium Announcement

WAM2015 Mid-Career Retrofit

The Mid-Career Retrofit, to be inaugurated at the WAM 2015 Meetings on Kauai, will recreate the experience of discussion and dialogue seminal to our doctoral studies. The Mid-Career Retrofit provides a unique opportunity to discuss key topics separate from the usual conference symposia, panels and paper presentations. The three-hour, Thursday afternoon event is divided into two sessions: “Better Methods” and “Better Questions” (i.e., theory). The Mid-Career Retrofit goal is “Better Understanding” via the retrofitting of our foundational knowledge1 first developed through our doctoral studies.

Thursday, March 12 from 1pm to 4pm. Room TBA.
Interested participants can sign up when they register for the conference. Please note that attendance will be capped at 15 participants.
