The Virtual Blood Bank Intermediate course will cover advanced antibody identification strategies using evidence based critical thinking. The target audience is a Blood Bank CLS with current experience in antibody workup with recommended prior completion of the Blood Bank Basics course. At the completion of this course, participants will be able to select one or more appropriate test methods or strategies of identifying antibodies and selection of compatible blood.

This is a remote learning course and will require participants to provide interactive dialog via online chat and audio response. Participants must be available to attend virtually both days of the course to earn CEUs.

Eligible Participants: Current Kaiser licensed bench CLS or ALAD CLS that supports Blood Bank if space available.

  • Clinically Significant Antibodies

  • Antibody identification case studies
  • High Frequency / HTLA / DARA
  • WAIHA antibody cases
  • Cold reacting antibodies
  • Selecting appropriate donor units
