Overview

This novel training package has been designed in collaboration with the Computing and Mathematics Department of the University of Derby. It will utilise a MOOC developed by VET4APPS, an EU project funded by Erasmus+, click here for further details about the project.

The training package will consist of a one day workshop that will be a combination of trainer input and practical activities using the VET4APPS MOOC and the mobile Apps design platform AppInventor (Android)

The workshop will be followed by a one hour webinar that will build on the content of the workshop exploring the pros and cons of different resources that can be used to make mobile Apps interactive such as AppInventor, Xcode and Android Development Tools.

The package will also include up to five hours of independent study during which delegates will have the opportunity to test and trial the VET4APPS MOOC.

Objectives

By the end of the training delegates will have;
  • Acquired business and mobile Apps marketing skills
  • Explored the commercial opportunities of mobile Apps
  • Developed mobile App design skills
  • Produced Android screen designs
  • Become familiar with the VET4APPS MOOC 
  • Considered how to further utilise the VET4APPS MOOC
