In this capacity, she also managed the grid operations related projects, including implementing OSIsoft PI System for Transmission and Distribution Operations, and Substation Automation integration, etc. Ann was the power & utilities T&D (Transmission & Distribution) Industry Principal at OSIsoft, and worked directly with the utility companies globally in strategic initiatives to build a real-time and event enterprise data management infrastructure to benefit the operations, engineering, planning, asset management and maintenance, AMI and Smart Grid, etc. Until recently, Ann has taken a new role as Director, Industry and Market Principals. Brian Cummins Manager Energy Management System, California Independent System Operator Brian Cummins currently holds the position of Manager, Energy Management Systems at the California Independent System Operator, which is a not for profit organization formed to oversee and operate the electric markets for the State of California. Prior to joining the California ISO in 2007, Mr. Cummins held various Management and Engineering positions within the SCADA, Energy Management , and Protective Relaying areas for Entergy Corporation which is a major public utility based in New Orleans Louisiana. Gies Bouwman Sr. System Engineer/Consultant Alliander NV After obtaining a master’s degree in Computer Science in 1998, Gies worked at the Radboud University of Nijmegen as a scientific researcher in the area of Automatic Speech Recognition. From 2004 to 2011 he worked for a private company named Tensing, where he was responsible for GIS software development for national and international customers, mainly in the utilities industry. Since January 2012 Gies has been the architect of the PI System within the Livelab programme. Livelab is Alliander’s real world learning environment, in which a wide variety of smart grid concepts are explored and tested. | |
Herbert Falk Senior Solutions Architect Systems Integration Specialists Company (SISCO) Herbert leads advanced technology assessment, product development, and system solution design for SISCO customers. He is also responsible for the product development of SISCO’s OSIsoft related products and solutions. Herbert graduated from Northwestern University in 1979 with a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering. He joined SISCO in 1985 and has provided OSIsoft-centric solutions regarding distributed energy resources, synchrophasors, IEC 61850, Wide Area Protection and Control (WAMPAC), geomagnetic disturbance detection, and the like.

Jesus Hernandez Vice President, Europe, Middle East and Africa OSIsoft Jesus Hernandez is the current Vice President, EMEA. He joined OSIsoft in 1997 and was the sales representative in Spain and Portugal for nine years. Jesus was then put in charge of leading Sales in Europe for OSIsoft. Prior to joining OSIsoft, he worked for Schneider Electric. Jesus attended the University of Salamanca (Spain) where he received a Bachelor's Degree in Physics, specializing in Electronics, in 1994. He completed his technical studies with an Industrial M.B.A at E.O.I in Madrid (Spain) in 1995. | |
Jim Kleitsch System Operations Engineer American Transmission Company Jim Kleitsch is a System Operations Engineer for the American Transmission Company [ATC]. His primary job function includes provision of real time support to ATC’s system operations personnel including the support of the network applications tools (state estimator, contingency analysis, power flow, etc.) used to manage ATC’s transmission system. He serves as the operations lead for ATC’s Department Of Energy sponsored synchrophasor project which involved the addition of 48 Phasor Measurement Units [PMUs] on the ATC system. He is also responsible for managing the performance of and analyzing the data from the 105 operational PMUs ATC has in service at sites scattered across their footprint. Jim is a native of eastern Iowa. He graduated from Iowa State University in 1987 with a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering. He went to work for Interstate Power Company upon his graduation and has worked in the system operations area in different capacities (and under different company letterheads as IPC was merged into Alliant Energy and Alliant transferred their assets to ATC) throughout his 27 year utility career. | |

He wrote his Master Thesis about Offshore Wind Energy Integration in the European Power System at the Electrical Power Engineering Division at Chalmers University of Technology, Gothenburg (Sweden). Working at the Electrical Control Center in Red Eléctrica de España during the last six years, he has been actively involved in the development of the Control Center for Renewable Energies (CECRE). | |

Miguel Chavero Industry Principal Power & Utilities OSIsoft Miguel Chavero is OSIsoft's Power and Utilities Industry Principal for EMEA. He has more than 16 years of experience working for the utilities industry, mainly in the Power and Water management industry. Before joining OSIsoft, Miguel worked at Iberdrola for almost 12 years, where he was the IT Manager in the Monitoring Diagnostic and Simulation Center (CMDS) of Iberdrola in Spain. The scope of CMDS initially focused on Combined Cycle Power stations and later was expanded to Nuclear, Coal and Cogeneration sites. Miguel led a team responsible for deploying all monitoring and diagnostics applications used on the CMDS and supporting real time initiatives across different business units, while supporting and maintaining all the related real-time infrastructure. The main applications deployed focused on Fleet Management, Operational Excellence and Performance and Efficiency Improvements program among others. Miguel was also responsible for information security in Generation Control Systems, and deployed complex cybersecurity projects worldwide protecting Critical Cyber Assets and leading cross-industry initiatives to support awareness, education and standardization programs. Since 2008, Mr. Chavero is CISSP certified. | |

He is a professional in the area of translating complex grid –related analytics into robust and scalable IT solutions. He has a background in Technical Automation & Telecommunications and was leading strategic programs as part of the entire Smart Grid Strategy for Alliander. Robin has his education in Statistical Engineering and Business Administration. The latter was focusing on how to use Innovation as a means for transforming businesses and the energy industry. Robin also holds a BSc in Process Engineering.
