Transmission and Distribution:
The Infrastructure for the Electrical Grid
June 11-12, 2014
The 2014 OSIsoft Transmission and Distribution Industry Seminar will focus on innovations in electrical grid operations, engineering and maintenance, etc. The T&D industry faces many challenges in the years ahead as the business becomes more complex and the efforts to maintain continuous performance affect all levels of grid operations. There are increased reliability concerns due to
- additions of large-scale renewable energy sources
- customer-owned distributed generation
- new stresses on an aging infrastructure
- impact of new demands on the grid (i.e. electric vehicles)
T&D
companies will require much deeper insight into cause and effect across the grid, from
generation sources down to the customer’s changing habits. The effective use of real-time data will be crucial for network operators to manage change and drive continuous improvement.
OSIsoft is delighted to welcome a panel of distinguished speakers from within the T&D Industry to share their knowledge and experience at this year's event.
- Keynote presentation from Kari Suominen, CIO, SVP ICT, Fingrid
- Jim Kleitsch, System Operations Engineer, American Transmission Company
- Brian Cummins EMS Information Technology Manager, California ISO
- Juan Julián Peiró Peña, Technician at the Electrical Control Center at Red Electrica de España
- Matthew Musto, Senior Project Manager - Operations and Reliability Products, New York ISO
- Alliander, Grid Information Manager. Robin Hagemans
Why Attend?
This event will provide a unique opportunity to learn from industry peers and subject matter experts how they are using real-time data to:
- Drive continuous improvement in grid operations, reliability and security
- Monitor grid stability using synchrophasor data
- Increase substation asset performance, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
- Incorporate AMI data into overall operational awareness
Please join us for what will certainly be a great exchange of ideas and information.
