Study Programmes (including Traineeships) Event
Traineeships are a key feature of the new post-16 Study Programme offer and provide a new training route for young people who are motivated by work but who do not yet have the experience or skills to secure suitable employment. Since the announcement of their introduction in September 2013 there has been much speculation of how providers will implement the policy to the most benefit of their learners. Overview
Following on from the regional events held during February and March 2013 by AELP/DfE/EFA, this one day participative event will:
- Share emerging best practice
- Provide details on how policy should be implemented
- Encourage networking and developing sub-contracting relationships
Delivered by AELP, the event will include contributions from senior representatives from the Department for Education providing a further opportunity to ask questions of officials and to feedback to DfE on any areas where Traineeships could be further developed.
All attendees will also receive a copy of the new resource “Implementing Study Programmes (including Traineeships) - A sharing practice guide for independent training providers”
Who should attend?
This event is primarily aimed at all independent training providers who have introduced 16-19 Study Programmes and who are delivering the 16-24 Traineeships.
