SIG: Strategic Exchange Forum
Date:  15 April 2014
Venue: Macdonald Burlington Hotel, Birmingham
The Strategic Exchange – a new AELP Special Interest Group set up to support Chief Executives, Directors and Strategic Leaders of independent provider organisations.

Stewart Segal, AELP Chief Executive will be chairing the forum with support from Krysia Hudek of Open Agenda, who will be facilitating the group discussions.

The Education and Training Foundation have commissioned AELP to deliver a development programme designed to support:
  • the continuous improvement in the governance.
  • strategic leadership of commercial and charitable training organisations.
As part of this project, AELP is setting up a new special interest group, called the Strategic Exchange that will focus on issues related to governance and strategic leadership. The meetings will provide an opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics including roles and responsibilities of non-executive Directors, recruiting new Board Directors, strategic planning and measuring Board effectiveness.

During the inaugural forum, AELP will show case its latest publication ‘Governance & Leadership’ Guide, designed as a brief guide to effective governance encompassing strategic leadership for independent training providers (ITPs).

The inaugural Strategic Exchange forum will take place on 15 April in Birmingham, followed by a second meeting on 18 June 2014 in Birmingham. A light refreshment and buffet lunch will be provided and offers an ideal opportunity to network with fellow members and to meet Stewart Segal.
