| Mr. Ian Turner Founder Cool-Curve Ltd Having established Juice Technology, one of the UK's leading lighting R&D innovators in 2002, Ian became well known in the lighting industry as LED technology developed both in Europe and North America. He was instrumental in creating Isotera Ltd, the company bringing a revolution to power and control for LED lighting and has recently formed Cool-Curve Ltd to deliver a similar impact to retrofit lamps. | Mr. Ruben Kubiak Policy Officer European Commission, DG Energy Ruben Kubiak, a physicist and psychologist by training, joined the European Commission in 2012 after his work in academia on the mathematical modelling of emerging infectious diseases, leading to a DPhil in Biomathematics. His work at the Commission concentrates on energy efficiency policies, especially the regulatory measures on lighting products and water pumps under the Ecodesign and Energy Labelling Directives, but also the transposition of the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive and the Energy Efficiency Directive into national law. Mike Krames received his Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Illinois, USA, under the supervision of Professor Nick Holonyak, Jr., renowned inventor of the light emitting diode (LED). After graduation, Dr. Krames joined Hewlett-Packard Optoelectronics Division in Silicon Valley as a research engineer developing high-power visible-spectrum LEDs.
