2014 Australasian Sexual Health Conference
 

The Australasian Sexual Health Alliance seeks to use the Australasian Sexual Health Conference to achieve its purpose of acknowledging and building on the specific expertise of sector partners in our common aims of improving national and local responses to sexual health in Australasia, in supporting and collaborating with close neighbouring countries to achieve these objectives.

Past Conferences

The 2013 Australasian Sexual Health Conference was held from 23-25 October 2013 in Darwin, Australia, back to back with the HIV&AIDS Conference. The 2013 Australasian Sexual Health Conference attracted key print journalists and resulted in articles in Australia's top papers, including the Australian, the Sydney Morning Herald, The Daily Telegraph, The Age and The Herald Sun. There were also multiple articles in Medical Observer and The Australian.

Speakers included Dr Roy Chan, Head of the National STI Control Programme in Singapore; Dr Teresa M. Darragh, University of California, San Francisco; Professor Basil Donovan, the Kirby Institute, Australia; Associate Professor Jane Hocking, University of Melbourne, Australia.

The Conference was featured on all major TV networks. Media highlights included an interview an ABC Breakfast interview with Prof Margaret Hellard on Chlamydia rates and a Lateline interview with Professor David Wilson on Rising Chlamydia rates in youth.

The 13th International Union on Sexually Transmitted Infections World Congress which took place in Melbourne, from 15-17 October 2012 and attracted nearly 900 delegates from across the globe is now over. A warm thank you to all those who attended, presented, submitted abstracts and showed posters.
