RN Leadership Development Program (2 days)
April 5 and 6, 2017
**LAMC will hold a separate Leadership Development Program for CNA represented RNs. CNA represented RNs are only eligible to register for the LAMC session.**
The RN Leadership Development Program is designed to equip unit/department RN leaders with the knowledge, skills and support needed to lead, engage and empower unit staff to impact member outcomes. Day 1 of the two day course emphasizes the linkage of the Charge Nurses'/Department Leads' role to organizational and nursing strategic priorities and outcomes. Day 1 begins with a leadership self-assessment which enables learners to customize their developmental goals with their manager. Leadership skills include strategic thinking, team building and influencing behaviors, results orientation and emotional intelligence. Unit Managers serve as mentors to the charge nurses and participate in a joint action planning session during the program. Day 2 focuses on conflict management, effective communication, working styles, prioritization skills, delegation, team assessment and effective leadership behaviors.
Course registration is restricted to employees who are already hired into positions within the specialty units and have manager's pre-approval to enroll. These courses are not open to outside interest. Sorry, no walk-ins.
