Overview |
All FE providers including independent learning providers (ILPs) are required to comply with statutory duties on preventing extremism. Ofsted have included compliance with the Prevent Duty and the use of opportunities to promote British values with students, trainees and apprentices in their inspections for several months and there is now explicit reference to this in the new Ofsted handbook for use from September 2015. |

All providers need to make sure that they are reviewing their policies, procedures and practice, training their staff and looking to exemplify British values. This workshop will give you the knowledge you need to adopt the Prevent Duty in your context. There will be sessions on the role of the FE Prevent coordinators and what you need to know about extremism; the experience of one ILP in adopting the Duty, a review of Ofsted reports and their coverage of Prevent, and a session on how you can integrate British values into your practice. |
Who Should Attend |
This session is suitable for leaders and managers especially those with responsibility for Safeguarding and the Prevent duty.
