Tournament Rules:

General information
  • Single stroke play over 18 holes
  • Men: white tees
  • Ladies: red tees
The tournament will be played in accordance with the Official Golf Rules (including Rules of Amateur Status) of the Royal & Ancient Golf Club of St. Andrews.  The tournament will be based on the USGA Handicap System.  These official association rules are available for viewing from the tournament organizations.  The tournament will count towards handicap calculation.

Handicaps
In accordance with the provisions of the USGA Handicap System, the tournament organizers will check the handicaps of the participants and possibly adjust them for the tournament based on the results in the qualification tournaments.

Prizes, classification
The US national team will consist of five participants who qualify for participation in the world finals.  In addition to separate gross scores for women and men, there must also be players in the three mixed net HCP categories.  The winners will then represent the US at the World Final in the HCP category in which they won.  Both gross winners will also be grouped into one of the three net HCP categories in accordance with their HCP.  The rule for announcements in that gross takes priority over net.

  • Men's gross winner
  • Women's gross winner
  • Winner in net HCP category A (mixed class): up to HCP 18
  • Winner in net HCP category B (mixed class): from HCP 18 to HCP 26
  • Winner in net HCP category C (mixed class): from HCP 26 to HCP 36

Playoff
In case of a tie, the better of the last 9, 6, 3 or last hole shall decide.  If these scores are also identical, the winner will be decided by lot. 3/3


Composition of the groups
Groups will be assigned by the tournament organizers.


Distance measuring devices
A player may use a device that allows him to measure or estimate the simple distance, but does not provide any additional information such as gradient, height or club selection that might assist him in choosing a club or assessing the next stroke.


Suspension of play
Signals for suspension of play in accordance with rule 6-8:

  • Immediate suspension of play due to danger: One long signal
  • Weather-related suspension of play: Three short signals
  • Resumption of play: Two short signals, repeated


Data protection
The participant agree with his registration for the tournament to the use of his personal data (including name, handicap, name of home club) for creation and publication of start and result lists.  The participant also agrees to publication of his name and picture in the press and on the internet.
