Beatrice is a Chartered Accountant. She heads up KPMG’s Private Client Practice in Scotland, with offices in Glasgow, Edinburgh & Aberdeen. She has specialised in the provision of tax advisory services for over 20 years. She works with a variety of partnerships, quoted and private companies, their directors and owners.

She has recently advised on the merger and acquisitions of legal practices and LLP conversions. Beatrice advises private individuals on wealth management issues including tax efficient investment structures, inheritance tax, property transactions and income tax planning.

Police Scotland

Malcolm is a Detective Sergeant with the Financial Investigation and Intelligence Unit at the Scottish Crime Campus, and has been involved with Financial Crime since 2006.

He has 30 years Police service mainly with a C.I.D/Intelligence/Surveillance background.

His current remit involves tackling serious and organised crime from a financial perspective, identifying financial trends being utilised by criminal groups, and close liaison with national and international colleagues involved in law enforcement.

As one of the solicitors within the Professional Support Team at the Law Society, Laura is responsible for supporting the interests of various key groups within the profession. She specialises in supporting:

  • Faculties, for which she is the Society’s main point of contact,
  • Sole Practitioners and High Street firms

Laura previously spent 4 years working in the Society’s Complaints Investigation Team and in the Regulation Liaison Team, when the SLCC was set up.

Originally, she worked in private practice in Edinburgh for 10 years pursuing civil litigation; with a niche interest in acting for the VAT man…somebody’s got to do it!

Morton Fraser

Fergus is a partner in the Commercial Property Division of Morton Fraser and is MLRO for the firm`s Glasgow Office. He was previously a commercial property partner with Macdonalds in Glasgow before the merger of the firms. He has wide experience of commercial property transactions having acted for national and international developers, investors, lenders, landlords and tenants in a range of deals over the years and heads up the Pensions commercial property team in Glasgow.

Fergus has one daughter and his hobbies include football (he is current Chairman of one of Scotland`s leading non-league clubs), travel, running, cinema and music.

Ian is a Chartered Accountant who joined the society as Director of Financial Compliance in August 08.

Ian's background is in internal audit and he was previously Chief Internal Auditor for NHS Lothian and NHS Borders.

Before that Ian was an internal audit manager with Andersen working for plc clients and has also worked for other public bodies.
