Siro Brieda owns Brieda Cabins, a company specialised in the manufacture of driver cabins which was founded by Siro’s father in 1978. Recently, the company developed “The Dynamic Control Station”, an ergonomically designed Crane Cab Operator interface device.

Jost Daemmgen is Sales Manager Port Cranes for Konecranes in Finland where he is responsible for the Germany, Caribbean and North Americas divisions. Prior to this he worked as Sales and Project Manager Straddle Carrier for Konecranes in Germany.

John Elliott is President & CEO for BNCT (Busan New Container Terminal in Korea), a state-of-the-art Vertically Automated terminal with future capacity of over 3 million TEUS. John has over 23 years of experience in the transportation industry including 10 years with Sea-Land Service and 7 years with DP World.

Lorene Grandidier has experience in industrial marketing and is now involved in the Shore Connection activity for Schneider Electric, managing strategic marketing and institutional relationships. She is involved in promoting greener solutions to European institutions with her work for the T&D Europe Association. new products.

Peter Grönholm has worked with Cavotec since 2000 in product sales and export sales of aviation power supply products before becoming MD of Cavotec Micro-control in 2011. Its core product is radio remote-control for harsh environment and explosion proof areas with a focus on safety for the operator when controlling heavy machinery wirelessly.

Ryan Hertel is Director of Business Development at Phoenix Products Company where he has worked for four years. Ryan is responsible for the introduction of LED technology and lighting solutions to the company’s worldwide port market.

Jonathon Hsieh is a Liftech vice president, a registered structural engineer, and an experienced designer and project manager. His professional career in the container handling equipment industry began with Liftech in 1996. He has BS and MS degrees from the University of California, Berkeley. Jonathon is experienced in design, review, analysis, and modification of container cranes, bulk handling cranes, and special structures. His expertise includes crane procurement, fatigue failure investigation and repair, and computer modeling and analysis. He has worked on numerous projects, including structural maintenance programs, seismic design of container cranes, crane instrumentation, and voyage bracing.

Frank Kho is responsible for offering development at Kalmar. As member of the Kalmar management team he coordinates the strategy and solution development discussions in Kalmar and the account management way of working. Frank’s career spans over 20 years of industry experience in several senior management positions at world’s leading terminal operators.

Lars Meurling is Vice President, marketing and product business development at Bromma Conquip, the world leader in crane spreaders. Lars has spent many years at the company and has led development efforts in the shop-to-shore and mobile harbour crane business sectors. Lars is the Chairman of PEMA’s Safety & Environment Committee.

Thomas Müller has been working for Vahle Electrification Systems for almost 5 years. His previous activities include the R&D of new technologies and project management relating to the port industry. In close collaboration with his team, he has developed the first fully automatic electrification of RTG cranes based on conductor rails.

Tamotsu Ninomiya is General Manager, Project Planning Department of Hakata Port Terminal Co., Ltd. He has been in charge of terminal operation for over 20 years since the opening of Kashii Park Port Container Terminal at the Port of Hakata. He has been involved in the development of terminal operation systems, KACCS and HiTS or Hakata Port Logistics IT System, which drastically reduced the port congestion. Tamotsu has served as the member of IAPH Port Planning and Development Committee since 2013.

Ottonel Popesco joined Cavotec Group in 1988 and is currently the company’s CEO. He is a registered professional engineer and an associate member of the Facilities Engineering Committee of the American Association of Port Authorities. Ottonel has served as PEMA President since January 2008.

Masaharu Shinohara has served as Executive Officer for Kobe-Osaka International Port Corporation since October 2014. His experience includes many years working in engineering and planning for Osaka Port Corporation, working as the Port and Airport General Manager for the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism as part of the Kinki Regional Development Bureau, and before this, in engineering for Kansai International Airport. Masaharu is a Director for ICHCA Japan and the Vice Chair of the Port Operations and Logistics Committee in IAPH.

Stephan Stiehler has more than 17 years of experience in the intelligent sensor industry and is responsible for overseeing SICK’s strategic activities and long-term growth in the port business world wide. Stephan plays an active role in PEMA as a Board Member and Vice Chairman of the Special Events, Programmes and Education Committee.

Allen Thomas oversees global operations for APS, has over 13 years of experience in ITand process automation systems, and is an industry thought leader on the application ofAutomated Gate Systems, OCR, RFID, and real-time container location systems worldwide. Allen is the Chairman of PEMA’s Automation & Control Technologies Committee.

Beat Zwygart established LASSTEC in 2004, a container load-weighing and accident-prevention system. Beat has accumulated many years’ experience in the container handling industry including founding and directing the marketing company for ELME’s Crane Spreader division. LASSTEC was aquired by Conductix Wampfler in September 2013 and Beat continues to work for Conductix to integrate the product into the group worldwide.
