ALO Training: An Introduction to the Role at HLC

Program Description

This online training, provides an orientation to the role between your institution and the Higher Learning Commission, including modules highlighting various responsibilities. The six-week training is self-paced, providing time to review the videos and materials. Modules include an overview of regional accreditation and peer review, as well as specifics on submitting substantive change applications, expectations of regular and mandatory data reporting to HLC, and staying current using HLC’s website. The training also features tips from experienced ALOs about how to work successfully with HLC staff and build support for accreditation work on campus. This online training is open to all institutional Accreditation Liaoson Officers (ALOs).

Materials

The course syllabus will be emailed to each confirmed participant prior to the start date of the course.

ALOs or their respective institutions are responsible for purchasing any software upgrades necessary to participate in the online course. Participants who have a high-speed internet connection and are able to run or teach an online course on their campus using Blackboard or D2L should already have everything needed to participate in this course.
