Maria Thomas (Co-Chair) Maria has 15 years experience in Welfare to Work and Social Justice and her remit has always been to respond to emerging policy and strategies of Welsh Assembly Government and the UK Government by leading and shaping delivery models that meet the needs and is fit for purpose for some of the most vulnerable in our society.

Sam Windett Sam is Head of Policy and Communications at ERSA. Previously, Sam was Head of the Policy and Public Affairs team at the public service provider A4e, working there from 2010 to 2015. Prior to that, she led Action for Children’s parliamentary work in Westminster for three years, particularly supporting them in their rebrand from National Children’s Homes and winning ‘best stand’ at Labour party conference. Sam started the first five years of her career in international consultancy, becoming an Account Manager in Hill and Knowlton’s public affairs team specialising in VCSE, health and public sector clients. Before that, Sam worked for MPs in Ottawa and Westminster, covering their parliamentary and constituency offices during the 2000 / 2001 General Elections. |

Cheryl Swales Based in the North East, Cheryl joined AELP as Project Manager on 14th December 2015 bringing with her 14 years’ experience of working in the education sector; seven years’ experience an awarding organisation and a further seven years’ experience working as a Manager and Head of Delivery in two Independent Training Providers. Cheryl is also a qualified Tutor, Assessor and Internal Quality Assurer and holds a BA (Hons) in Educational Studies. In her role as Project Manager Cheryl works with the delivery team. |
