A graduate of each Harvard and Colorado State universities Leachman was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Leachman Cattle Company, in Billings, Montana from 1992 to 2003, a company with annual sales in excess of $14 million. The company produced genetics in the United States and South America and marketed branded all-natural Piedmontese beef in the States under the Montana Range Meat Company brand.

In October of 2003 Leachman formed Leachman Cattle of Colorado, a seedstock marketing company respected worldwide as a leader in objective selection criteria and composite cattle production. Last year he launched a new contract breeding initiative know as the Bull Improvement Company in Paraguay, Brazil, and Australia. Leachman oversees the company’s research and development efforts in the areas of genetic analysis and selection indices. He also hosts web-based seminars, titled ‘No Better Bull’, which explore strategies to improve ranching profitability and producers will find great value in his presentations.
