Overview of the Innovative Learning ConferenceEvery two years, educators and innovators from around the country convene at The Nueva School for the Innovative Learning Conference (ILC) to discuss and share ideas about many of the most challenging and critical issues facing education.
The conference is organized by The Nueva School and features lively discussion among internationally preeminent speakers, scholars, educators, parents, community members, and students. Topic strands include:
- Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment: Common Core and 21st Century Learning
- Creativity and Innovation
- Design Thinking, Design Engineering and Entrepreneurship
- Equity in Education
- Globalization and Cultural Understanding
- Integrated Technology
- Teaching Critical Thinking and Reasoning

Nueva’s campus is hilly and can be quite cool. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately.
Please note: On Thursday, high school educators will have an opportunity to attend
sessions at the Upper School in San Mateo (about a 15-minute drive from
the Hillsborough campus). If you are interested in attending sessions
about high school education, please check the box on the attendee
information page when you register. There is limited capacity at the
Upper School, so please make sure you have indicated your interest.

Conference attendees and presenters will be invited to come, browse, and make purchases at the book store on both days of the conference. The store includes books by presenters as well as other related materials.
The Nueva School has a No Nuts policy in place to protect the health and wellbeing of several students with severe nut allergies. Please help us keep our students safe by not bringing any snacks that contain nuts.
Photography and VideographyThere is no photography or videography allowed during the presentations.
Campus ToursTours of Nueva’s Bay Meadows and Hillsborough campuses will be offered on Thursday, October 15; there are limited spaces available. For further details, please e-mail ilctours@nuevaschool.org with your contact information, the campus you are interested in touring, and the number of people in your party.
