Council envisions the City to be a vibrant, populous and sustainable Capital City built upon Adelaide's heritage and lifestyle. Adelaide City Council values mainstreets as important places within their defined districts because they contribute significantly to the economic stability and growth of each district. The highest concentration of business clusters tends to occur in mainstreets. Mainstreets are unique places with a diverse offering for customers, shoppers, workers, students, tourists and visitors. Intensive focus on mainstreets supported by Council and the business community can deliver better economic and other outcomes for the mainstreets, districts and the City as a whole.
