Here you will find all the information you need about the 2015 Mainstreet SA State Conference, which is taking place in within the City of Adelaide on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 April 2015. This site will be regularly updated with details including accommodation options, conference schedules and more.

Mainstreet SA is a not for profit, member based organisation committed to supporting streets as destinations for local goods, services and shopping, as well as places of social exchange, playing an important part in community building.  We also assist these streets to promote their local identity and authentic offering.  

It is our pleasure to invite you to "MAINSTREETS: Windows to the World Conference 2015" brought to you by Mainstreet SA and the Adelaide City Council being held on Thursday 16 and Friday 17 April 2015. 

Mainstreet SA and the City of Adelaide seeks to focus on our traditional mainstreets and how they need to adapt and change to meet the challenges of the future. The keynote speakers have a wealth of experience with high streets in the UK and regional mainstreets in Australia.

Considering the management, marketing, business development and design of streets can affect their performance, engaging the businesses and property owners in beneficial partnerships can bring together key priorities and actions that will guide the direction of plans for each mainstreet.

Mainstreets remain the community hub, and for this to continue a number of factors must be considered, including street management, marketing, online strategies, business mix and capital improvements to meet the needs and expectations of customers.

The Conference will be held at The Grand Chancellor on Hindley Street, Adelaide and will comprise a comprehensive program reflecting the Conference theme and embracing the sub themes which include management, marketing, volunteering, placemaking, activation, economic development and sustainability, healthy communities, governance models and public realm/urban design.

As well as inviting you to the Conference we are asking you to tell your colleagues, students and others about it and to encourage them to attend. We hope that not only will this Conference showcase the amazing range, depth and quality of Mainstreets in South Australia, but that it will be a great networking opportunity for all.

As well as the main program the Conference will feature walking tours of the City of Adelaide and a networking dinner.
