The National MPS Society invites you to attend the 27th Annual Family Conference, held at the Omni San Antonio Hotel at the Colonnade in San Antonio, TX. The event begins Thursday evening with dinner and syndrome breakout sessions. Newly diagnosed families will join together Thursday evening with Dr. Joseph Muenzer and Dr. Kimberly Frye for an overview of the diseases and to share their experiences and strategies about coping.
San Antonio was chosen as the site for this year's conference because it is the home of Morgan's Wonderland, a 25-acre family fun park that is accessible for those with special needs. Saturday will be spent at Morgan's or, if you prefer, Saturday can be spent at the historical Alamo and San Antonio River Walk. Bus transportation will be available for both attractions. Knowing only one day is available for educational sessions, we asked you, our members, what is important to you; those areas are research and new treatments. Our Speakers Friday morning will focus on these topics with specific subjects, such as management of MPS and related diseases, presented in concurrent sessions in the afternoon.
There will be time to catch up with friends, beginning with dinner Thursday evening and ending with dinner at the hotel Saturday after a full day at Morgan's Wonderland. The 2013 walk/run and fundraiser organizers are invited to attend a Society sponsored breakfast on Saturday. The board of directors will meet Thursday, Oct. 24, at 8:00 a.m.; Society members are welcome to attend. As always, there is no registration fee for individuals with MPS and related diseases, and complimentary childcare will be provided Thursday evening for the syndrome breakout sessions and for the Friday sessions.
